From 12 to 13 September 2017 the international workshop on Data-based approaches for local and global video game cultures - opportunities, challenges, future directions took place at Leipzig University Library.

As part of the workshop a excursion to the GamesLab of the University of Leipzig took place. The GamesLab houses a collection of 4500 Japanese computer games. There are
computers and game consoles, as well as recording technology available to play with in a scientific context.
